The Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques De Cargese (IESC) is an associate partner of the project. The institute is located in Cargese, Corsica, France. The Institute started in the 60's as an independent nonprofit association (1901) in villa Menasina under the direction of Maurice Levy, an eminent theoretical physicist. At that time only few schools of theoretical physics were held at the venue during summer. In 1975 the association was granted by governmental institutions with new facilities allowing a progressive increase in the activity of the Institute. Since 1996 the Institute is affiliated to the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, University of Corsica and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.
The project foresees two intensive learning and teaching activities, namely two Summer School which will be held at the IESC, in May 2018 and April 2019. The summer school is essential for the achievement of the project objectives. Students enrolled in each second year of the master degree in physics at the University of Bologna, Clermont-Ferrand, and Dortmund, together with staff from the Universities as well as from the research institutions (INFN, IN2P3, and DESY) will attend an intensive programme. The school is organized with lectures on the most recent results and achivments in the field of the High Energy Physics.
The Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques De Cargese (IESC) institute will contribute to the project hosting two intensive teaching and learning activities, namely two Summer Schools, crucial events for the iTHEPHY implementation, an ideal structure equipped with all the necessaries facilities to achieve successfully of the objects
The Institute housing facilities on site include several double room. The Institute provides lunches and breakfasts to all participants. For dinners, a fully equipped kitchen is available to the guests. The institute is in a quiet area, an ideal place to create a friendly atmosphere.
The lectures will be given in one of the two auditoria (capacity of 80 and 98 seats). They are equipped with a projector and a laptop computer. Two additional meeting rooms are available with boards and beamers for team-work activities. The restaurant, auditoriums, accommodation rooms are reachable with a pleasant walk through the diversity of the Mediterranean vegetation.
